**One full week in the books…**

Hopefully by this time your kiddos are feeling comfortable with me, the schedule, and work expectations. This week saw the introduction of spelling responsibilities and the reading log. *Note: Your kids should be having you sign off on reading log biweekly so I know you know they have a novel to use for the assignment.* Please reach out to me if there is an unforeseen circumstance that prevents your child from completing any work.

We have been taking time to emphasize that standards are important. Neatness and management of materials help facilitate productivity. To this end we have color coded our subjects on the schedule, homework board, and most books. If your child is facing challenges in this area, please let me know how we can work together to help them feel more secure and acheive success.

The tricky tray event brought another level of exhilaration to our Friday! The children did a wonderful job managing their selections as well as their voices and bodies as we circulated throughout the cafeteria with anticipation. Thank you to all who work tirelessly to make this and other events such a beloved part of our St. Jane’s community.
